Proxim Wireless December 2021 Update

In Manufacturer Update, Proxim by Robert Fruchey

Proxim has several exciting products coming next year but we just wanted to mention a few highlights of the last year.

Proxim Edge

It’s just one year since we first introduced the Edge Point to Point and Point to MultiPoint product lines, and we are delighted that the flexibility of these products has proven to be a winner.

The Edge products offer excellent flexibility and are a perfect solution for short, medium, and long-range applications with an integrated antenna and software selectable external antenna connectors.

In September, we released our latest rugged outdoor Wi-Fi 5 solution, and early customer feedback has been very positive. With support for Proxim’s mobile app, BlueConnect, Dual radios, a rugged metal enclosure, and support for MIMO 4×4, this product delivers exceptional performance for outdoor Wi-Fi networking.

This week we are happy to announce the latest firmware release, 8.0.5 that brings a range of new benefits and features that include:

  • 80 MHz channel support
  • Short-Range Optimization Improves stability for a short-range link and is configurable via the GUI or Proxim BlueConnect.

The firmware will be posted on the support portal by Wednesday the 15th of December. Don’t hesitate to contact us for more details on additional fixes and improvements, or check out the latest release notes.

ProximVision Advanced 3.0

This latest release adds support for Windows Server 2019 and paves the way for Linux Server support in early 2022. Supported versions of Linux include Ubuntu Server, CentOS / Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL), Debian, and Fedora.
